The Easy Music Player is a disability aid developed in partnership with the Alzheimerās Society to provide entertainment and cognitive stimulation for anyone with dementia. It is also an ideal mobility aid for people who have some visual impairment.
The design of the Easy Music Player makes it simple to operate, as the main controls can be hidden, leaving only the one button for Play or Pause visible on top of the mobility aid. By holding this button for five seconds, you can change between USB (with bookmark function), AUX, Bluetooth and theĀ radio.
Alternatively, the panel that āhidesā the other buttons can be left open for more able people who can then make use of the DAB radio and change channels, have music or audio by USB, and give access to the Bluetooth speaker and the Bluetooth out to headphones. There is also the volume up/down button under the panel.
The Easy Music Player has a clear display, can be moved from room to room, and is simple to clean and easy to operate.Ā
It is a known fact that music has a profound benefit for people with dementia, as it provides the key to improving memory, as well as being a source of pleasure and entertainment. The sound of music can jolt memories and ideas for those living with dementia or anything remotely similar. Music may unlock memories from the past that had perhaps been forgotten.
