Using an infra-red sensor, the monitor sends a signal to the pager, or portable Sign Wave receiver, whenever aĀ child, or adult passes through the sensors' field of vision, alerting the carer.
The monitor can be angled to cover a specific room, or staircase, while allowing free access to other rooms without activating the pager, or Sign Wave receiver.
This efficient living aid can also be placed at a low level to act as a bed-leaving alarm, where perhaps the usual pressure pads would not be appropriate.
These low-key mobility aids are not only useful, but also discreet, allowing the person monitored a certain amount of freedom of movement and independence. It also allows the carer to carry on doing everyday tasks knowing he, or she, will be instantly made aware if a problem does occur.
For additional monitoring, the Movement Monitor also has an audio sensor with variable sensitivity and time delays for use when monitoring sounds like a child crying, or someone calling for assistance.
